DINING

  • New Scenic Cafe features Whole World Foods, beautifully created from the best ingredients – including a great selection of fish and meat dishes, along with many vegetarian options. Dessert specialties are made fresh daily. Reservations suggested. (218-525-6274)

  • Nokomis Restaurant menu selections range from the classics to new cuisine. Menus change often to capture the best of what is seasonal, fresh and (often) local. Nokomis takes pride in preparing and presenting food that pleases both eye and palate. Dining room and bar provide panoramic views of Lake Superior and the fireplace makes for cozy dining. Open at 11:00 am. Reservations appreciated. (218-525-2286)

  • Boat House Restaurant in Superior is quickly establishing a great reputation for intimate waterside dining featuring fresh Lake Superior fish and a fine assortment of regional foods. Just take a quick hop over the High Bridge to Wisconsin on US 53 and turn left at Barker's Island. (715-399-0076)

  • Black Woods Grill is a great option if you're looking for a deliciously diverse menu and easy to reach location after a long drive. Our more ambitious guests enjoy the scenic seven block walk. Just remember it's all uphill coming home! (218-724-1612)

  • Bellisio's Italian Restaurant is a top recommendation for fine dining. One of our guests from Italy described the food as the best she's had outside her home country. Featured in Wine Spectator on account of its exceptional wine list. Reservations suggested. (218-727-4921)

  • Fitger's Brewhouse, Duluth's only brew pub, offers award-winning handcrafted beers and tasty fare in a friendly smoke-free pub atmosphere. The vegetarian wild rice burger is highly recommended. (218-726-1392)

  • India Palace was voted the best Indian restaurant in Minnesota by readers of Minnesota Monthly. It offers a variety of dishes for all tastes, from lamb to vegetarian, mild to spicy. Highly recommended if you're in the mood for a wonderful ethnic alternative. (218-727-8767)

  • Sir Benedict's Tavern on the Lake offers made-to-order sandwiches and Duluth's widest selection of beers (200+) from throughout the world. Nightly music and optional outdoor dining further distinguish this popular local hangout. (218-728-1192)

  • The Pickwick is Duluth's oldest family owned restaurant. Noted for burgers, steaks, and fantastic onion rings, it also serves up great walleye (order the half portion unless you're REALLY hungry). The original dark woodwork is quite stunning. (218-727-8901)
